Sunflower and Forget-Me-Nots – 3D Paper Quilling Card

This is one of my earlier 3D paper quilling sunflower cards, featuring a large, vibrant sunflower surrounded by delicate blue flowers and intricate green foliage.

The sunflower is built from layered orange and golden-yellow paper strips, creating full, textured petals with plenty of dimension. For the centre, I combined tightly rolled dark brown and black quilling strips to create a dense, seed-like texture, with tiny bead accents adding even more detail.

Around the sunflower, I added small blue five-petaled flowers with white bead centres, together with deep green quilled leaves and delicate paper tendrils. The combination of yellow, blue and green gives the whole composition a bright, cheerful character.

The color combination also has a special meaning. The blue and yellow flowers were created as part of a patriotic project inspired by the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

I have always loved wildflowers and countryside-inspired floral compositions. I grew up in the countryside, so sunflowers, small field flowers and natural-looking greenery are themes I often return to in my paper quilling.
