Handmade Quilled Teacher Thank You Card (Strawberry Garden)

Strawberry season in Poland is a little bit magical, and I wanted to capture it on paper. When my colleague asked me for “something nice” for her daughter’s kindergarten teachers, I decided to make a Strawberry Garden.

The idea came from the fruit stalls in Polish markets, where strawberries are everywhere in June. I made two quilled cards, one for each lady, because the children’s group was saying goodbye to them yesterday.

Every strawberry, leaf, and little white flower is paper quilling: I used 2-mm strips of 80 gsm paper and rolled them one by one. The white picket fence and the lace add a cozy, countryside feeling to these quilling flowers. I chose red polka-dot paper, so I call this card “Strawberry Cake.”

It is a pity strawberry season isn't forever, but it always inspires me to make homemade jam, cakes, liqueurs, and, of course, paper crafts. Handmade quilled cards like this one are easy to personalize with a name or a thank-you message.

If you like paper quilling flowers and simple quilling ideas, I hope this design gives you some inspiration for your next project!
