Blue Paper Quilling Wedding Card with Pin-Husking Flowers

This handmade paper quilling wedding card was an opportunity to experiment with a technique I don't use as often — pin-husking. The unusual cornflower-blue flowers became the main feature of the design, combined with soft yellow blossoms and green quilled leaves.

For the blue flowers, paper strips are looped around fine pins to create light, open petals with a delicate fan-like structure. Yellow fringed centers add texture and dimension, while the two-tone green leaves complete the floral arrangement. I really like how different these flowers look from traditional tightly coiled quilling blooms.

The bouquet is arranged inside a simple heart-shaped frame, with a subtle embossed floral background adding texture to the card. A satin ribbon with a small pearl embellishment and the personalized “z okazji ślubu” — “On the occasion of the wedding” — greeting completes the design.

This card is a good example of how experimenting with paper quilling techniques can create something completely different from a traditional floral card. The combination of blue pin-husking flowers, yellow accents, and the heart-shaped composition gives this handmade wedding card a fresh and distinctive look.
