Fuchsia and White Quilled Wedding Card

For this wedding card, I chose a combination of white and fuchsia. I like how these two colours work together: white keeps the design fresh and elegant, while fuchsia adds a bright accent and draws attention to the flowers.

Handmade wedding card featuring a pink pin husked quilled flower, seed bead swirls, and paper lace.

The main decoration is made up of looped quilling flowers, created with 2 mm paper strips (130 gsm). I enjoy working with this technique because the loops give the petals an open, delicate appearance while allowing me to build up a more intricate floral arrangement. I also added bead embroidery, which brings another layer of texture to the design.

I used two types of pearlescent cardstock for the card base and the decorative border. The punched border adds detail without taking too much attention away from the quilled flowers. I also made the small dots on the background myself, using the little paper circles left over from punching the border. Arranging them in a regular pattern was a simple way to carry the design through to the background.

Inside the card, there is a pocket for a monetary gift and corner holders for a separate sheet with wedding wishes.

I decorated the back with the same cardstock and repeated the handmade dots to keep the design consistent throughout.

The fuchsia flowers stand out against the pearlescent background, while the tiny bead details add a subtle sparkle. With a pocket for a monetary gift and space for wedding wishes, this card combines decorative details with a practical design.
