How to Make Paper Quilling Leaves – Step-by-Step Tutorial

Leaves are one of my favorite details to add to paper quilling flowers and floral arrangements, but finding the right leaf shape is not always easy. In this tutorial, I will show you how to make paper quilling leaves and combine them into a small decorative branch.

Quilling Honeycomb Tutorial – How to Make Paper Honeycomb

Have you ever had an idea arrive in the middle of the night and refuse to leave until you sit down at your craft table and bring it to life? That is exactly what happened to me. I spent this particular night making paper honeycomb until 4 a.m. — and now I’m sharing the idea and the technique with you. This quilling honeycomb tutorial shows how to make realistic honeycomb cells from paper strips. The finished honeycomb can be used to decorate handmade cards, scrapbook pages, gift boxes, shadow boxes, or even turned into jewelry such as earrings or a pendant.

This tutorial shows how to make one petal step by step and then combine five petals into a complete handmade quilling flower. I used light pink and dark pink paper, but you can experiment with different color combinations to create your own version.

Pastel Paper Quilling Floral Composition

Who says flowers only belong in a vase? Tucking a soft spring meadow inside a round wooden embroidery hoop is one of my favorite ways to bring paper art to life. For this 3D paper quilling floral arrangement, I worked with a dreamy pastel palette of pink, white, light blue, pale green, and yellow. Large pink and white blossoms take center stage, featuring delicate open-loop petals and raised yellow centers that give them wonderful depth and dimension. Large pink and white blossoms take center stage, featuring delicate open-loop petals and raised yellow centers that give them wonderful depth and dimension. I really enjoy how the pastel colors make this piece feel light and gentle, while all the small quilled details give it plenty of texture and dimension. This is a paper quilling inspiration project and I hope the flowers, colors and composit...

Exotic Flowers – 3D Paper Quilling in a Shadow Box

I called this “Exotic Flowers”, a 3D paper quilling composition created by combining different textures, colours and quilling techniques. The arrangement features crimped paper flowers, comb-quilled foliage and delicate husking elements, all displayed in a 25 × 25 cm wooden shadow box.
