Emilia – Personalized Quilled Name Art with 3D Butterfly

I love creating personalized quilled name art, and this piece was made around the name Emilia. The deep purple cursive lettering is the main focal point, standing out beautifully against the smooth white mounting card. Around it, I created an oval floral wreath using a cheerful palette of lavender, violet, coral pink, butter yellow and fresh yellow-green, giving the composition a bright yet delicate feel.

The name Emilia was created using quilling on edge, also known as paper quilling typography. I shaped and glued the paper strips vertically onto the backing board to form the flowing letters, giving the name a raised, three-dimensional appearance.

One of my favourite details is the 3D quilled butterfly at the bottom of the wreath. I created its wings from layered pink and purple paper elements and added a small pearl to the body.

The finished personalized quilled name art is displayed in a deep white shadow box frame, which provides the extra space needed for the raised flowers, butterfly and on-edge lettering. I like the combination of precise paper typography with the softer, organic shapes of the flowers and butterfly. This type of 3D paper quilling wall art could be adapted for another name or colour palette and would make a lovely personalized decoration for a child's room, birthday keepsake or handmade gift.
